Cobras Presentation Night – Best Female Player

On Friday 15 March 2019, the Boroondara Cricket Club held its 2018/2019 Season Awards Evening at which the Junior Section teams received team awards (batting, bowling and coach’s awards) and four special awards were presented.

One such award was the Best Female Player for the 2018/19 which is awarded to the best female player amongst all the girls who played this season whether it be Stage 1, 2 or 3 competitions based upon their playing record at their particular level in either Spring season or Summer season. 

This season the Best Female Player was awarded to Alice Batt.

Alice had an outstanding season playing in the Cobras Girls Stage 1 team in the ECA’s Spring and Summer seasons.

In the Spring season, Alice amassed 74 runs from 7 innings and was retired not out in all innings. In the Summer season, Alice amassed 88 runs from 5 innings and was retired not out in all innings. She finished 4th in the batting aggregate across all girls in the ECA in the Summer season.

Her total batting performance for 2018/19 was 162 runs from 12 innings at an average of 63.

In the Spring season, Alice took 11 wickets at an average of 6.62 with her best haul being 3/14. In the Summer season, Alice took 7 wickets at an average of 6.14 with her best haul also being 3/14.

The 2018/2019 season was Alice’s first foray into Club cricket!

What a start to what should be a fantastic career – well done Alice!
